Fabric-Wrapped Panel

A fabric-wrapped panel is a wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted acoustic absorber consisting of a rigid fiberglass or mineral wool core wrapped in acoustically transparent fabric. These panels are among the most widely specified acoustic treatments in commercial interiors due to their combination of high absorption (NRC 0.85–1.00), attractive appearance, and design flexibility. Standard panel sizes range from 600×600 mm to 1200×2400 mm with thicknesses of 25–50 mm. The fabric covering must be acoustically transparent (air-permeable) to avoid reflecting sound before it reaches the absorptive core. An air gap between the panel and the wall surface significantly improves low-frequency absorption. Fabric-wrapped panels are commonly used in offices, conference rooms, classrooms, worship spaces, and home theaters. They are tested per ISO 354 or ASTM C423 and can be printed with custom images.
