Membranes — Acoustic Material Guide
Stretched fabric membrane ceilings combine a seamless monolithic finish with high acoustic absorption. An acoustically transparent fabric is stretched on a perimeter track with mineral wool insulation above, creating a clean, uninterrupted ceiling surface. Available in hundreds of colours and printable surfaces, making them popular in premium commercial and hospitality interiors.

Installation Notes
The acoustic performance depends primarily on the mineral wool thickness above the membrane, not the membrane itself. Ensure the fabric is classified as acoustically transparent (air permeability >100 l/m2/s). Plenum depth of at least 200mm is recommended for broadband performance.
Typical thickness: 0.3-0.5mm membrane + 100-300mm plenum
